>> plus more pixels

The 12" has enough pixels... it is designed for extreme portability. If you must have more pixels, then get a machine with more pixels... that's pretty common sense.

Yes there are other PC based laptops with 12" widescreens running at 1280x800

I would certainly buy a powerbook at that point. Well, after they start running on Pentium M's. Just because that's gonna be the next big thing, and there's no point in myself buying a powerbook now when they'll be running on pentiums in the distant future..

I was thinking of posting something like this last night.
I'm pondering getting a 12" powerbook because of the smallness factor. I want something smaller than my 15" powerbook. How about:

1.8 Ghz G4
200 Mhz FSB
ATI 9550 or 9600 PLEASE

I know the processor speed might be a little high for a G4, but shouldn't they be able to do it? I'm very clueless on the powerpc chips being a convert of a few years ago, I'm learning though. Also, a wide screen with more pixels would be ok I guess, but to do that would probably change the shape of it. I like the way it is now. To each his own though.

3G iPod 40GB
3.4 Ghz P IV, 2GB RAM, X800 XT AIW, XP Pro, Dell 2405FPW

Gawds, I'm tired of getting teased and anxiously waiting for things that can only be found in the 15" and 17" PBs. I'd sure wish Apple would just put the backlit keyboard, PC Card slot, and widescreen into a 13.3" form factor. Heck, how about Gigabit ethernet and FW800? Stop making the 12" PB an orphan.

I'm hoping the 13.3" form factor would be big enough to fit all of those features.

I've had a Lombard 14", a TiBook 15", and an AlBook 12". I loved my 15" screen real estate but I prefer the portability of the 12".

I think the 13.3" would be just the right compromise. For now, I'm gonna keep spinning on my 12".
