Now im wondering if i should buy it or not? Its a 600mhz 14'' iBook, 20gig hd, 256mb ram and has OSX 10.1.1 i think. All seems to work fine, the battery says it has about 2 hours of life. Seems like it had one rough ass life, many many scuffs/scratchs, but then again its next life would be on an 18 wheeler so that doesnt matter much. Price is $399, but if i had $250 cash it would be mine. Should i get it or not?

if i found an apple laptop in a pawn shop in working order for that price id grab it and hold onto it tightly before someone else finds it and snatches it away. i dont know what your work load is like, but get more ram 256 no matter what is way to little, and itll be a better comp none the less

US$250 is an excellent deal. Add 512 MB RAM and you're set.

Snatch it up, especially for $250, heck if it has a DVD player that'll be an excellent addition to the 18 wheeler, and cheaper than the stand alone players

Scratches and nicks are perfectly fine... just no cracks.

I would snatch it up and haggle with the guy a bit [you never know].

I got it for $213. After a little cleaning the scratches came out. Its a 600mhz, combo, 20gig, 384mb ram, and 14''. I installed Panther on it last night and its working great. The battery fitment is a little shody, but it stays in. The added plus was iTunes had about 450 songs on it, all ripped from cd's. Everything from Afroman to The Beatles to The Who was on there. I picked through it to save what i liked and let the rest go with the erase of the HD.

Yea really. It had a shitload of school papers on it, all the last owners info. But it came with all the software(and i never knew Apple shipped a blank cd with them) and a platic thing with some Applecare papers in it. It wasnt stolen either, i called the last owner to get the password for it.
