I have my son-in-laws Onyx PB 667. The LCD does not work. The left hindge was broken and I fixed it with epoxy. The connectors from the LCD to the computer look OK. What could be wrong? What happens when the inverter board goes bad?

Thanks!

if the inverter goes bad the computer gets no power.

It sounds like there is enough damage that it would be cheaper in the long run to buy a new computer

Actually, if the inverter goes bad, the backlight goes dead. Everything else would be OK, including the LCD itself. You can see a faint image on it without the backlight. But yes, it sounds like time for either a major repair or a new machine.
