My powerbook has started the hang-up/freeze thing thats been plaguing so many here on this forum. But what worries me most is a constant "purring" and crackling that now emanates from my 12"pb. It seems like its always doing something, yet in activity monitor it shows no unusual stuff. In contrast my gf's ibook is SO quiet, making little clicks of the hd every now and again. What is this? Should I bring it in to Applecare?
Also, when the pb is moved about it makes a light saber like sound that I think is the fan but could be the HD.
