I've noticed that the promotion "excludes the 12 inch iBook with CD-ROM drive" (found on the rebate form). Does this mean it excludes the 12 inch iBook with the Combo Drive (base model)?

If ti matters, this is from the Canada Apple online store.

The 12" iBook with combo drive is not excluded. The Cd-ROM drive model is referring to a model that is only available for special purchase (for example, for schools).

There's a big difference between the CD-ROM model and the Combo-Drive model-the Combo-Drive is a CD-RW AND DVD-ROM. You'll also note that the CD-ROM model IS NOT available for educational purchases...ONLY the Combo-Drive and better.

You are right; they really SHOULD make it clearer what they mean by the different drives, and it's not surprising that people find it confusing.
