Friday: London: AM: Leave window open next to desk to air room and cool down hot, humid flat.

Friday: London: PM: Thunderstorms abound all over west London. Tube is flooded.

Friday: London: PM (late): Get back to find room drenched. TiBook in puddle of water. Panic. Cry. Mourn and grieve passing of beloved mac.

Unplug power supply. Leave to dry. Mop up room. Wring out clothes.

Tentatively try mac. Works perfectly. Smile and rejoice.

Lovely.

Shame about the rest of my stuff...

How long did you leave it to dry?

I would have given about a week. At least.

Remember that the mac can still work but you may find that down the road, it starts acting up if you don't let it dry out and I mean DRY - completely out.

I let it dry over the week-end. I let it dry for long enough that the plush chair in my room was dry too. But I need it to work with, and so can't leave it for ever!

But if there's any water left in now, I would be very surprised as its been hot again this weekend.
