The backlit keyboard in my account stopped working after a while - all the right preference were set. But I noticed that in my girlfriend's account on my PB - which she doesn't use much - it works just fine.

I tried to fic the problem by resetting the preference, retstarting, repair preferences and it just would do it everytime I logged out of her account and back into mine ( in a dim room) the keyboard backlight just went out. Then I trie it again this evening and hey presto! It has stayed on!!

Any ideas as to why or how this happened?

It is a 1.5GHz 15" PB Bought in March 2005..and I noticeda after a couple that the keyboard was not backlighting. I travel alot so am often using my PB on trains/evening time etc.

But I just put my PB to sleep for 10 minutes and guess what? No backlit keyboard when I woke it up. And YES before you ask it is a dark room!!

Did you notice anything strange with your computer besides the keyboard backlight not working, such as auto screen brightness adjustment not functioning? Or maybe the sleep light behaving erratically? If so, this is a hardware issue, which would be fixed under warranty.
