I have an iBook G4 and I'm thinking of getting the Mini. I was wondering if the Tiger install disks for the Mac Mini will work on the iBook. My iBook is the 1gz/R9200 model.

Might not. Usually the hardware drivers the disks install are specific to that machine. I have gotten away with it using some older Mac OS 9 disks from different machines. But usually there is a preventative software bit that prevents you from doing so.

Actually, it should work. Apple usually doesn't go through the trouble of restricting their install cd's to work on specific models. My powerbook came with 10.2 disks and I had no problem installing it on an older tower I have. The only exception (that I know of) would be for the G5's, where they needed a special version of 10.2 when they first arrived.
edit: don't forget that Tiger comes on a DVD now.

That's actually not true from my experience, it's a full version of the software it's just sometimes they do a check with OpenFirmware to see if the machine is correct. I tried installing 10.3 from my iBook on my B&W and the B&W booted the cds fine got to a certain point and said something to the effect "this machine is a B&W not an ibook" I did some research on it and found out it was reading from OF. YMMV, best of luck.

It works! But...
The only thing is the trackpad will not work since MacMinis are equipped with a regular USB mouse instead of a trackpad device.
Somehow it will tell you that your iBook does not detect any mouse input unless ofcourse if you connect an external USB mouse.

I'm fairly sure the answer is yes; in any case I've installed Tiger on my G3 ibook using the DVD that came with my mini.
I did it by attaching the ibook in target disk mode to the mini, booting the mini with the dvd and selecting the ibooks drive as the destination disk.
Done this a couple of times - no problems.
(you will need to use the target disk method if you don't have at least 10.3 on the laptop already anyway)
Edit: no problems with the trackpads either BTW.
