I've just had to buy a new ibook g4 12" as my old one died. I need to upgrade the memory but can't really afford to buy pc2700 memory right now. I have a 512mb stick of pc2100 from my old machine - can i use this for the time being?

Yes, it should work as the 12" is still using 133mhz system bus... It would not work on the new 14" though.

Well, these days PC2700 is cheaper than PC2100. I guess it's the only reason why they say the 12" requires PC2700. PC2700 will just run at PC2100 speed on the 12". For the 14", it's another story, PC2700 is required because of the faster system bus.
