Wait until this Monday and Tuesday at the very least. If there are going to be new PBs released, then they will be released on one of those days.

Short answer is: No one knows (outside apple). Rumors have been flying back and forth for weeks about a possible update this week, and more recently rumors have been that the update is cancelled.

Generally: If you need a laptop *now*, buy it *now*. If you can wait, then wait.

But, if I were you, I would wait until later this week to order a 15". I actually tend to doubt there will be an update this week, but if there is going to be an update soon, it's likely to be this week because of the Paris Expo.

(In fact, I am in the position of needing a replacement for my first generation 12", which is slowly suffering progressive organ failure. If no new PB's this week, then I'm ordering a new maxed out 15" ASAP.)

cheers,
-henry

I agree; the latest rumors on new PBs concern this week's Apple Expo (Paris?). I'm tempted to buy this week if there are new PBs announced. I'm not sure if I should be rooting for it or not. I just got a new Shuttle PC (Windows machine) in April, but alas, I gave my Mac to my mom.

Also, if you're concerned about the whole Intel CPU thing, I think it's definitely worthwhile to buy a PB now if you have a lot of money invested in PPC OS X software.

Yeah, the Intels are going to be faster but not that fast. Much better battery life, though. I'm hoping a widescreen 13" or similar Powerbook comes out...

Well, organ failure of the 12" continues, and without new powerbooks in Paris, looks like I'm making an order today for a maxed out 15" today or tomorrow....
