i've just bought a 1GB from OWC and it came today... i installed it under the direction provided by apple on its site, the entire process was smooth n i made sure i touched some metal before i put my hands on the memory. HOWEVER, programs that i run would close unexpectedly, it happened 3 times today... and it rarely happened before the upgrade.. can someone tell me some possible causes of the problem ?? or some ways to fix it ? thx a lot

by the way, i am using the latest pb 15" w/ 512MB stock, 1.5 GB after upgrade

Try a restart and see if that helps. If not, remove the ram and see if things improve. If so, you may have a bad ram stick. PBs are very flaky on the ram they like.

I've gotten bad house brand RAM from OWC before, but i figure that the price is so good that an RMA is worth it.

try zapping the PRAM (boot with command+option+P+R). that did it for me on my PowerBook after an OWC memory upgrade. have had no crashes since.

btw. have no clue what it does, but it worked.
