Picked up myself a Powerbook G4 Ti. 400MHZ 40GB HDD 1GB SD RAM. Nice comp, light too, my only complaint is the flimsy feeling. Well, it seems to me that Titanium is very bendable !!!
Especially around the hinges...is there any way to correct this? They squeek. Not fun....some minor bending around the cd rom and bottom edges of the casing. Blah

Yeah, original Titaniums were too thin and flimsy. I don't think there's very much you can do about it.

The only thing "flimsy" about the original Titaniums was the hinges, which were not made of Titanium.
The rest of the machine is rock solid. Except for a few paint scuffs.
The Titanium series is probably the most sturdy Apple laptop ever.
I would just be careful with the operation of those hinges, since replacing them is not very cost effective for a 400mhz Titanium.

Indeed, my 1 ghz Ti has none of the hinge problems or flimsiness you speak of. That said the hinges on the AlBooks are just better.
But then again your Ti has made it this far. It must be like 4 years old!

The powerbook Ti systems are essentially glued together. The outer plastic edge is glued to the titanium part (palmrest). I've noticed on a few Ti's that the glue eventually starts to separate leading to excessive flimsiness. When I took my Ti apart to paint it blac I took off all the original glue and redid it with JB Weld. It feels a lot better now. Also, it is possible that the screws on the bottom of the machine are just loosening a little. Get yourself a torx and see if you can tighten them up a little.

Yeah, the whole bottom panel seems to be very loose, around the edges mostly. I actually put a tiny bit of superbond on there...totally no problem now. I'll have to figure out how to get the top palmrest section to be more 'stable'...a bit loose there as well. Other than that, just a squeeky hinge now. Thanks!

My 800mhz Ti didn't have a hinge problem either.... until today when I tried to lift the screen up then. SNAP! My left hinge is busted. I just spent $130 on a new pair of hinges on ebay.
