I've had this iBook for just over a year and I use the hell out of it. Always pushing it to its limits in terms of software(high end graphics apps like maya) and everything else(always with me in my backpack, etc.) Anyway today as I was just starting the day, I open my laptop and turn it on(always turn off when I go to bed) and it starts fine, but then about 5 minutes after tiger fully loads the screen shuts off. So I procede to restart. Same problem again. SO I then plug in, let charge for a little annnnnd same problem. So next time I start i quick upen settings, turn off power saving and screen saver, then I turn it off and on again... same problem. I decide next to try to use an external monitor, same problem. SO i have no idea what the problem is or how to fix it. I also have no idea what to do???? ANy help???

Thanks,
Chad

Mine is 8 months old and I have already faced the same problem too for twice.

The screen blinks and I could see spots of black sides, and then it went off. The system is still running. I can confirm that. Because I know the sequence, and I could easily press the power down button once and press enter, the computers shut down itself.

I sent it to Apple Center, but they sent it back and didn't mention anything about my repair on the ibook screen. Sucks!
