Hey all, new visitor here. I've been posting all over the place with not a lot of responses, so maybe someone here can help me.

I have a Westell Versalink router hooked up to my Dell. I also have a 12" PB G4 which I just purchased an Airport Extreme Card for. Can I, if at all possible, use that router somehow for wireless use or do I need the Base Station?

And, if it helps, I'm using Verizon DSL.

Thanks,

As long as you have a wireless router... You can hook up the 12" PB wirelessly.

Okay, be patient with me here for just a moment.

If I go out and buy a Linksys router like my wife has on her Dell and hook the new one up to my main router in my office, that new one will work with the Mac as long as I configure it properly. Correct?

Sorry to be so slow, but quite new at this networking game.

Thanks in advance

As long as it's an 802.11b or 802.11g router, which pretty much all consumer wireless routers are, it will work with your Powerbook.

Okay, let me ask ONE MORE stupid question and I'll let you be.

Is it possible, for me to use her wireless router for my Mac and/or her Dell? Could she even be on the Dell at the same time I'm on the Mac?

Okay, that was two questions.

Yes, one router will support both computers simultaneously.

It's not a stupid question but you are in the wrong forum.

So i take you already have a WIRED router?
Pretty much its useless if your going wireless.

If you go out and buy a new wireless router. Hook it up with the Dell. The Dell will be hooked up and your Mac should pick up the wireless signal; of course while your in range.
