i'm sure some of you have heard or are using OWC brand memory. so here is my experience.
I bought the OWC brand Ram (1GB) for 139.99 on the net. it was a 2nd days delivery for 5 bucks, pretty good right? i installed it on my pb and experienced a lot of instabilities in various programs. So I returned them for a RMA (replacement). This afternoon I received the memory again and installed it. The instability was gone and went smooth, but there's one thing that's not right. It has a 1GB Ram sticker on the Ram but my computer shows it's a 512MB. So tomorrow i guess i've to call them again and do another replacement... i'm not sure if they do that in purpose or wut...

Presuming its a 15 or 17" Powerbook, try noting what System Profiler says, then reversing the order of the two modules in the sockets. Check System Profiler again. Does the problem follow the RAM or stay with the socket?

If you can't get it straight, and end up with your money back, I recommend Data Memory Systems in the USA for Mac RAM

I'm guessing you're running a 1GHz, 1.25 GHz, 1.33 GHz, or 1.5 GHz (first model 1.5) 15" PowerBook. The Nanya (or what they have pictured) RAM is not certified for use on those models because of their pickier memory controllers. I mentioned this in another thread about RAM in a 15" 'book. I had a similar experience when I owned a 1.25. Their (more expensive) Samsung chip IS certified for use on those older Aluminum machines. Assuming your machine is properly functioning, I would say your RAM is probably not matched for the CPU.

If I am wrong in any of my assumptions, then please ignore this post.
