Did you go through Apple? I see that they have some good refurb deals. I think going refurb is a pretty good idea. You've got AE (which is very important for a laptop IMHO) and you can max the RAM out on those systems to 1.25GB. My mini has been stellar with 1GB of RAM, so I don't think it would hurt most people to be limited to 1.25GB (over the 1.5GB possible with the new rev iBooks).

I just recently purchased one of the new 12" iBooks through Amazon. Estimated arrival at around the 12th of October.

Ye I went through the UK Apple refurb site, got about £170 off the standard retail price. I'll be putting another 256 stick in it for now, as I have one lying about, but I will most probably be maxing it out when I get some more money!

Woo! Its just arrived! What a dream it is to use! Anyway, just a quick question, do I have to be careful with types of discs i put into the combo drive? I know it will only take full diameter discs but are there any restrictions as to different types of media?, eg CD-R compared to RW, or DVDs etc

. I'm sorry. You will get a new one soon though . Don't worry.

And about the combo drive... the answer is No.
