Someone sent me a link to the microsoft website to check out their new OS. Looking through it, microsoft seems to have stolen everything from OS X: Quicksearch (spotlight), RSS Feeds, Sleep Mode, and "no" spyware/viruses. Who needs to wait a year and half to get that, just buy a Mac!! The only thing that seems new to Vista that hasnt been done (without going into detail) seems is that the new OS will boot in 3 seconds, which I have to say is pretty damn good..although I just put my PB to sleep so its like the same. Sorry for the rant, just thought id go for it.

Quicksearch = Spotlight = Google Desktop .... Google did it first, and it works much quicker than spotlight.
RSS feeds - apple made Safari an RSS viewer.... *shrug*
Sleep Mode = haven't most OSes had this for quite awhile?
No spyware/viruses ... i havent had either one on my own PC for going 7 years. That's more than I can say for my iBook when it ran OS 9.

*yawn*

Apple did a good job with OS X, I give them that. But aside from Expose, they have done nothing "new". They do a great job building upon what's already been done. Just like Microsoft.
MacBook Pro | 2.16 ghz core2duo | 2gb ram | superdrive | airport extreme
iBook G4 | 1.2ghz | 768mb ram | combodrive | airport extreme
iPhone 3GS | 32 GB | Jailbreak, or no Jailbreak

This isn't a discussion of a PowerBook-specific topic.
