Hi All,

Im in desperate need of help I hope someone here knows the answer! I have a 15in 1.5ghz Powerbook about 6 months old, when I came to turn it on today it booted as normal until where the moving bar would come up and say Welcme to Macosx.

This flashes up for 1 second then dissapears, im then greeted with a black screen which says;

'Darwin/BSD (Neil -OBriens-Computer.local) (console)

Login:

Logging in just works but just brings up the command line prompt! I've tried; zapping the pram, starting in single user mode but nothing seems to work. Oh and one other massive problem, I can't boot from the CD as my powerbook slot drive has recently gave up and will not let me insert and disks, and I have no other mac to connect to! Is there anything I can do??

Neil
