I have a PB w/ an 80gb harddrive, yet I only have 5gigs free. Obviously something is taking up loads of space, but I can't figure out what I have intalled over the past year or so to take up so much room. No video either. Any program or something special to figure out where the bulk of my space is? thanks alot

First of all, try rebooting. There may be VM files or other invisible stuff that will be removed. After that, see how big your applications and user directories are. How can you not know where all that space went? You must be installing or creating something to take up the space.

Try OmniDiskSweeper

If you have multiple accounts, be aware that it won't show you the details for any non-public files in the other accounts (you will have to log-in and run it under each account).

Edit: It is shareware, but you can run it for free to show what space files are taking... the limitation is that you have to delete things manually if you want to do so.

also check the home folders of other users, whatsize doesn't pick those up (i think).

if you dont mind using the command line:
run as root:
du -h -d 1 /
That will tell you at the root level which folders have the most stuff

Do you have FileVault on?
