Just put in a 1gb stick in my powerbook and the thing has been flying. I mean everything, from iTunes and Safari to Motion and FCP. I love it. But one weird thing just happened. I get home today, and start opening stuff up on it, and its SLOW AS HELL! seriously, I get the spinning beachball with everything, with even just iChat and iTunes open. I have 1.5gb in here, so it should in no way be doing this. I tried restarting, nothing on that matter, and the Powerbook still recognizes all 1.5gb of the RAM. The only weird thing is that when I open up the Activity Moniter, (which bounces like 10 times before opening), I switched to ALL PROCESSES and under SYSTEM MEMORY, it shows that this thing kernel_task is taking up almost 1.2gb Virtual Memory. Could this be it? I doubt its a virus, but do you recomend anything to clean something like this up? ANYTHING? I need my Powerbook back up to speed people!?!?! Haha. But really, anything will help, I will try ALL SUGGESTIONS! Thanks
