To make a long story short, my 12" iBook got a little liquid spilled underneath it, and then the next day it didn't work. Whenever you'd start it up, the fans would come on full blast and that's it.

Recently, it starts up almost half of the time and the other half it does the fan thing. I got it to stay on long enough to back up all the important stuff to a drive (thankfully).

Then I decided to try and re-install the OS to see if having a fresh OS on there would help. When I clicked "Restart" to start installing Tiger, the computer wouldn't turn on. After a few times of this, it starts up and I get this message.

Apple Powerbook6, 5,4,8 SF0 Boot Room built on 04/06/04 at 16:22:19

Welcome to open firmware. The system time and date is 01:57:29 10/19/2005
The Battery is: 91 percent
To continue booting, type "mac-boot"
To shut down the computer, type "shut-down"
"
Well, I type "mac-boot" and a screen comes up that says
"ALLOC-HEM request too big"

What's wrong with the computer? Does anyone know what to do?

(P.S. I wasn't sure to post this in the iBook or OS forum but I chose iBook because it was having problems before the OS was acting up)

I would bring it to Apple, however it pretty much just passed it's 12-month warrenty with no AppleCare (I know, I'm an idiot)
However, I would try typing that but when I start up my computer now, it does the loud fan thing again. This is soooo irratating!

I would bring it in to an apple store for them to look at it......
By the sounds of things, you never did say if you cleaned up the liquid, and I'd say that there is damage to your motherboard from it...... even if you had apple care I would think that this would not be under warranty....... I don't know how much damage there is on your motherboard but if caught in time they may be able to help you out...( I hope )
