The brand new Powerbooks released today sport a 1440x960 resolution but Apple did NOT update the graphics card. My own 15" PowerBook that I bought earlier this year has the exact same card (ATI Mobility Radeon 9700 graphics card with 128MB DDR memory).

This leads me to believe that Apple just put a OSX software resolution limit of 1280x854 on all previous PowerBooks - which kind of ticks me off a little - and I want to know if anyone out there has a exploit of this to verify.

Someone help me take off these training wheels.

Nope. It's a hardware restriction of the screen. Your (and my) current 15" model only have an actual, physical 1280x854 pixels. Sucks to be us, huh?
All opinions are entirely those of my employer. It's not my fault.
