Hey guys, I've had my 1GHz 12" powerbook for close to 2 years now. The batter has been losing capacity for a little while now which I understand is normal for an aging battery. It was still getting 1.5 hrs of batter life though until recently. Now I notice that the batter dies very fast, usually while the computer is asleep. When I try to wake it up, the battery will be at 0% even if it was at 100% a couple of hours before. Then when I charge it up it will charge up from 0% to 30% slowly and then jump from 30% to 100% in like 1 minute. I think this means that the batter has just completely died but I wanted to be sure it wasn't something weird with the PMU or something. Can anyone advise on this situation?

You should check how many times this battery has been charged. You could use ministat2 widget or any other application that will tell full charge cycles. My battrey has 811 charge cycles and 2 years old and still work for about 1-1.5 hours. So, probably you battery really dies.

i just downloaded ministat2 to see how many cycles i got in since owning this 'book (jan 2004) and it says that i have 348 cycles, and i get 1-1.25hrs on the battery. i hate that i gotta get a new battery soon...oh well, i think im better off selling this n using the $200 alongside the sale ammount towards a new machine.

Well, I always work on PowerBook from the battery until it goes to sleep and then charge it to full.
