Hi there,

As someone who is about to hook their projector up to an ibook using the vga display adapter, is it possible to change the resolution of os x's native 800x600, 640x480 or 1024x768 and change it to 832x624 pixels for particularly watching dvds? Is it possible -- is there a hack for it, like something I could type in the terminal or another application I could use to change it?

Thanks,
Calum

It might work with the screen spanning hack.

What iBook have you got?

I have the G4 800mhz 12in ibook.

Can the DVD drive in this ibook handle dual layer dvds or not?

Probably not since it's an old iBook but someone else may be able to help you there.

I don't see why it wouldn't. If it has the combo drive then it does; as for regular DVD drive, well my 6 year old Gateway PC's DVD drive reads dual-layer ok, just not burnt ones.

As for the projector, download and install the screen spanning patch, then it should recognise the native resolution of the projector.
