I am going nuts. I have the 1.25GHz 15" Al PowerBook. The first of the Al line. It has worked like a dream... until today.

No new software installs. Same updates running on my desktop (no problems). Today, I got no less that 18 kernal panics. Yes, 18 in one day. If I got to login at all, when I would click a menu or a window... BAM! Panic! Here's the kicker though... if it's not plugged in, just on batteries, it seems to be running fine. Plug it in and BAM!

I have reset the PRAM. I have reset the PMU. I have rebooted until my fingers are numb.

Any ideas? Anyone else seen this? It was working just fine until this morning. The battery doesn't hold a charge like it used to. Could the battery or the charging system be causing this?

Searching for answers....

What happens if you run it on power without the battery?

Do you have another power adapter you could try?

If I run it without the battery installed, but plugged in, it still crashes. I tried another adapter and got the same results.

Try resetting the PMU again.
Remove extra ram/ try different ram modules and see if it makes a difference.
If it still doesn't work then it needs to go to Apple.
