I just bought a new powerbook and I am looking for a new case for it. I dont want to pay too much money for it, and I am looking for something small yet able to store what I need. for example something that is designed to fit the 15" powerbook well, and gives enough storage space for the power adapter, a mouse, and maybe some software. But I want the case to be compact so nothing bulky. A very important thing is protection since I want my powerbook to be safe from anything that could happen while traveling. so anyways what is recommended?

There's a "sticky" on this subject in the main Powerbook forum (look at the top thread). That has a lot of information on it, and a master list of about 50 options.

Personally, I just bought a case and bag from Waterfield Designs [sfbags.com]. They have over 20 sizes of laptop cases, including one that fits the 15" Powerbook perfectly. There are other quality cases/sleeves mentioned in that other thread.

Search the board for 'sleeve' or 'sleevecase'. I don't know how much is too much, since protecting a US$2000 tool with inestimable data with a small percentage of cost for protection is almost a requirement, but I spent $100 on an Acme Made Slim, and they're highly recommended. Here are the advantages:

1) quilted, soft interior
2) integrated plastic on the sides and bottom for extra protection; survives many plane flights
3) side zip can store power adapter and mouse
4) top loading zip, so you don't have to remove the case from a shoulder bag
5) leather-lined handles
6) comes with shoulder strap

Disadvantages:

1) expensive
2) side zip is not particularly roomy

*There is no side zip for the Medium 15". It's a pocket. (Just got one.)

Other manufacturers and models are STM, RadTech, Waterfield Bags, Crumpler, ZeroShock, and various others like Targus, eBags and the like.
