15" G4 1.5GHz wont wakup from sleep

Hi

Got PowerBook G4 15” 1Ghz, OS 10.3.9 (approx. 1.5 years old)

Lately after replacing my crashed hard drive (reinstalling all SW + all latest updates) I am experiencing very disturbing problem.

When I put the computer to sleep while it has CD/DVD inside, the first time it will wake up normally but with the screen promoting:
Restart
Sleep
Cancel
ShutDown

If I choose sleep again at this time or any other time after the first sleep, it will not wakeup. It will start with the Chime sound, starts spinning the CD and then it will “die”.

I tried resetting the PMU & PRAM to avail – The only way I can boot after this failure is by pressing apple key + S (single mode) immediately after the chime sound and holding it down until the gray screen appears.

I have tried to search the web for known bugs or similar problems; non was exactly he same as mine.

Any idea?
