Hi everyone, having been a frequent reader of these forums for several years now i regret that my first contribution has to be about a technical problem. But anyway...

My tibook 550mhz screen is periodically only showing the top third, the lower two thirds freezing and turning white. Moving the screen hinge/tapping it brings the rest of the screen back to normal but not for long.

Could this be a loose wire? Something i could fix? or is this the end of my trusty friend.

Your views would be appreciated.

and old Tibook 550mhz, 256 mb RAM

can you take it to an apple store to ask them to look at it? maybe the screen cable is loose or damaged?

they could tell you what's wrong with it and then you can open it up yourself and try fix it if it is out of warranty and want a good excuse to buy a new one

Were those duplicate replies or just a good way to get your post count up?

The hamster is on vacation and his substitute isn't doing a very good job.

I suggest taking your PowerBook to an Apple Store and having them look at it. Right away. (Well, after backing up your stuff.)

Think you quoted the wrong person. I only made one post. Well now two I guess. :-)

Randman probably had the another window set to the lovely gals of the internet and kept pressing refresh - in wrong window.

Nope, just once. I do enough post-whoring without needing duplicates.
