I mistakly got a piece of plastic (a guitar pick) stuck in my computer. I was poking it through the disk drive it fell through. Im not sure what to do. I have heard stories of people breaking their disk drive this way. Should i open my computer and get it out myself? Should I turn my computer off so it doesnt over heat up and melt the plastic? Any help would be much appreciated.

can you shake it around and try get it out like that?

is it still under warranty? if it is then don't open it or you will void your warranty. if it is under warranty, take it to an apple store or phone apple (1-800-MY-APPLE) and get them to fix it for you.

about it melting. you got me on that one.

A guitar pick's not gonna hurt anything as long as you don't shove in anything behind it. Did you try just holding up the computer (turned off!) so the drive slot is facing down, and just gently shaking it?

I treid shaking it out it didnt work. I dont have APP so it looks like i need to open it. Instructions how to do it well and safely would be appreciated. Or even alternate ways of fixing it.
