I currently am using a 15inch PB G4 1.67. I have an old, but still working, Powerbook Pismo (400mhz) that has firewire. I am wondering if there is any way that I could hook the old powerbook up to my new powerbook and use the old one as an external second monitor? I am not trying to do video mirroring, I am trying extend my screen real estate so to speak.

Any help would be appreciated

Not really...
If you could trick the PowerBook into thinking a second display was plugged in, you could pipe that output to the old PowerBook with VNC... but I can't see how you'd do that.

Strangely enough, this has been asked many times. No, it is not possible. You can get cheap CRTs or LCD displays. Why not just get one of those?
