I just bought a 12in PB (Newest Revision) and I've been having some battery/AC Adapter weirdness and I was wondering if it was normal. When I run the laptop without the battery in, I get a high pitched whine from the AC Adapter. It's not very loud, just very high pitched. Sometimes the battery makes a similar but louder noise when it's plugged in as well. Generally, if I remove and reset the batter it goes away for a while. Is this normal? I'm wondering if possibly the battery is coming a little loose, causing the noise, however, should the AC Adapter make this noise at all?

Never noticed the adaptor make a whine, but can't say I've ever listened to it properly.

Not normal at all. I'd return it. And if the battery is making the noise too, I'd try to get a replacement as well.

Batteries in particular can have a varied lifetime. A marginal battery (which would still pass QC and not be considered bad) might only last 18 months, but a good battery would last twice that at minimum. If you have any suspicions that your battery has problems, you're better off trying to get it replaced now then having it die prematurely.
