Some of you may have seen this already elsewhere, but I thought I'd post it here too. According to Apple's Aperture Compatibility Checker, the most recent iBooks support this application. This is what I get on my 2005 iBook with 1 GB RAM:

This is surprising, given the listed minimum requirements:
Minimum System Requirements
One of the following Macintosh computers:
Power Mac G5 with a 1.8 gigahertz (GHz) or faster PowerPC G5 processor
15- or 17-inch PowerBook G4 with a 1.25 GHz or faster PowerPC G4 processor
17- or 20-inch iMac G5 with a 1.8 GHz or faster PowerPC G5 processor
Mac OS X version 10.4.3 “Tiger” or later
1GB of RAM
One of the following graphics cards:
ATI Radeon x600 Pro or x600 XT
ATI Radeon X800 XT Mac Edition
ATI Radeon X850 XT
ATI Radeon 9800 XT or 9800 Pro
ATI Radeon 9700 Pro
ATI Radeon 9600, 9600 XT, 9600 Pro, or 9650
ATI Mobility Radeon 9700 or 9600
NVIDIA GeForce 6600 LE or 6600
NVIDIA GeForce 6800 Ultra DDL or 6800 GT DDL
NVIDIA GeForce 7800 GT
NVIDIA Quadro FX 4500
5GB of disk space for application, templates, and tutorial
DVD drive for installation
I know the Radeon 9550 supports Core Image, but Apple specifically mentions that the only machines that are supported are 15" and 17" PowerBooks and G5 desktops.

It may be "supported", but good luck trying to get any work done with it on the iBook. Even iPhoto is too slow for me to use on my 1.33ghz with 1.5gb of ram.

Aperture will probably only run decently on a spec'd out G5 tower, or depending on what the new PowerBooks bring .

In terms of real work, I don't plan on using the iBook. It's really just there for previews and organization. I had been considering a dual-core Intel 15" PowerBook, but most of the time I wouldn't be using it for photo stuff (since it's just a hobby for me) and I value portability. If I could at least just do very basic stuff on the iBook I'd be pleased (especially since I thought it wasn't going to be supported at all).

For the more involved stuff I already have a supported 20" G5 iMac with Radeon 9600 which again isn't ideal, but it's a great deal faster than the iBook obviously, and perhaps in 2007 I could go dual-core with that too especially if it gets an X1600 XT or something. By 2007, the X1600 XT will be truly a mid-range GPU appropriate for an iBook, and it's about as fast as the X800 GT. An X800 GT/X1600 XT would be quite a capable GPU for Aperture.
