Does anyone know if there are removable decals (kind of like the ones they sell for iPods and Shuffles) that one could put on the palm rests or the exterior of the iBook. Removable and cheap and colorful is key.

I have not tried either of them. The iToppers seem to be a decal that can be pulled off when your tired of them. Although they don't have a wide variety of colors.

Maybe you could go to a sign shop and have a custom vinyl sticker cut for yourself.

The itoppers can be removed when you are tired of them, they are made as a one use thing though, you can't put them back on after you've taken them off. (From their F&Q)

You might try to find a product called Un-do. I found it at Wal-Mart in the crafts section. It's a liquid that basically neutralizes glue temporarily. In other words, you can put some Un-Do on a sticker, peel it off cleanly, and re-use it later. It's come in handy for me quite a lot, though just make sure you use protection over the keyboard. I'm pretty sure the stuff evaporates quickly and cleanly, but don't take any unnecessary risks. I also tried using something similar from Duck brand, or whatever, but it didn't work nearly as well. Best of luck to you.

Has anyone ever ordered from colourfulapples.com?

I'm wondering how easy it'd be to make my own. As far as I can see it's just coloured film (or with an image printed onto it) with sticky strips on each corner to stick it (and lift it off the case a bit) to the case.

If anyone has ordered from them (or even made their own) can you say how easy it'd be to make your own?

I've seen a handful of websites that have instructions on how to create them. The easiest way was a transparency sheet that was run through a color inkjet printer.

Buy some vinyl cling film and print out your own. In the USA, you can find it in the lamination section at Michaels craft stores.
A process known as distributed computing helped map the human genome.

Now it's being used to find cures for cancer, ALS, alzheimer's and other diseases.

You can help by running a piece of software in the background. It's easy, free, and fun!

This is what i did. I purchased some transparency film for ink jet printers. I printed out some color blocks, cut them into a strip of about 1.5 - 2 inches and slipped the color strip underneath the white plastic "thing" (not sure what to call it). it worked great.

when the lid is closed the apple appears white. But when its open and on the apple glows green. If i did it the colorful apples way it would appear green all the time.
