I just got my new 17" AL PB this weekend. It is wonderful. I upgraded from the original 17". I used the data transfer feature upon startup to get my info from the old to the new PB. The process worked flawlessly except for two small issues. First, everytime I boot up, TechTool automatically launches. The app is not in the startup items or folder and I can't find any reason for this to be happening. Second, anything I drag to the trash gives me the message that the item must be deleted immediately. Additionally, some folders and files won't go into the trash. I don't have the right permission. I have repaired the permissions in DiskUtility but the problem remains. If I run repair permissions again, the same permissions are repaired (as if they were never fixed before). Also, in the get info window of the Trash, when I try to give my administrator account ownership privaledges, I get an error message (60002). I tried to correct this in the root account but got the same error message.

Has anyone had a similar problem with their PB? Any suggestions?

[NOTE: Moderator: Please delete earlier posting attempts - forums returned an error message. Also - Not sure if this is a PB issue or a Mac OS X issue - move if necessary]

I don't know about the Techtool issue, but for the other problems, are you sure that the account you are using is an administrator account? Check it in account preferences. You could also try creating a new admin account and see if you have the same problems when you are logged in with that account.
