my keyboard is.... a bit weird right now, so excuse me for using strange and/or no punctuation or capitalization.
in short, my shift, fn and option keys have started to act up recently. if i push one, the computer thinks i'm pushing all three at once... as confirmed by the keyboard viewer. now i've already played around endlessly with the different international settings to no effect. i've also called apple tech support and had them walk me through all the easy things to try, eg. the reset under the computer and the like, but the keyboard is so messed up that i cannot use any of the special boots that require me to push the option key since the option key won't work by itself.
apple concluded i needed a new keyboard and sent me one, but it hasn't fixed the problem. does anyone have any other ideas as to what could be causing this problem. i have tried hooking up a pc usb keyboard which worked with no problems.
i'd like to avoid sending it to apple, since they'd probably wipe all my programs and data in the process of fixing the problem... and that just isn't an option for me right now.
any thoughts are appreciated.
