Hi Guys, need some help here.

Scenario: PowerBook gets charged to 100% on adapter. Take adapter off and use PowerBook somewhere soley on battery. The battery is fully charged, i.e. I can use the PowerBook 3 hours straight no problems. Don't touch PowerBook for 5 minutes and the PowerBook will sleep... all is good.

However, when I wake the PowerBook back up from sleep, I see the battery meter in the menu bar for 1 second drop down to nothing (empty icon) then the computer hibernates (safe sleep mode) before I have a chance to do anything. I then check the back of the PowerBook and hit the button on the battery and the bottom LED is the only one that lights up, and it blinks, indicating that the battery is dead.

However, if I then plug in the adapter, then restart the computer the battery will show that it is at 90% or so again. I know this is correct because it had been charging all day and if I keep using the PowerBook without letting it sleep, all is well. So for some reason, after the PB wakes up from sleep, it registers a working full charged battery as completely empty and hibernates.

I have tried resetting the PMU already and that did nothing.

PowerBook 15" 1.67, 1GB RAM, 7200 RPM 100GB HD, 1440x960 (All original, nothing extra installed)

I need help!

Have you tried calibrating the battery, i.e., use the PowerBook full strength (suggestion: run a DVD while you work) without a power adapter, until it sleeps, then fully charge it?
