Hi,

A friend of mine dropped his powerbook recently. Everything is working perfectly, minus some minor cosmetic issues, but the screen was very loose so I figured it was the hinges. I have taken the screen off of the powerbook and both sides have broken hinges.

The thing is that on the aluminum powerbooks there is a cover that runs along the bottom edge across the screen that covers the hinges. How do you remove that cover?

I am scared to pry it off, but it looks like that is what is needed to remove. Do you have any ideas?

Thanks so much!!

Hi,

Thanks! I actually used those guides to disassemble the screen from the computer, but it doesn't show how to replace the hinges, which involves removing the bottom cover.

Any ideas on that?

Thanks!
