Hey-i just gor my new ibook yesterday (thank you jobs for the after thanksgiving sale). i was wondering what is the easiest and fastest way to transfer my files from my imac to my ibook? I know you can use firewire with disk utility, but i would perfer not to have to go out and buy a firewire cable. i have about 15 gb worth of stuff. is there a way to do it over wifi connection (i have a linksys g router) or with and ethernet cable? if so, how? i know you can use bluetooth but that is very slow and takes forever. Thanks!

None as quick and easy as the Migration Assistant.

Buy a Firewire cable from somewhere with a liberal return policy.

You didn't hear it from me.

If you don't use Firewire Target Disk Mode you're going to have a difficult time dealing with permissions issues. TDM is far easier. And you should have a Firewire cable by now.
