Anyone got any ideas how to get itunes to transmit/play from my Powerbook to the car radio?

Do any of the iPod transmitting devices work with a Powerbook 1 Ghz to car radio?

Best solution: Buy a head unit for your car with line in.

Workable solutions: Buy one of the FM transmitters or cassette adapters (usually for CD or MP3 players).

Thanks,

There's a bewildering array of FM transmitters out there, and they all seemed designed for iPods -- given the frequent incompatibilities we sometimes face, I was reluctant to shell out for one unless I could be sure it worked from a Powerbook.

Any recommendations that have been proven to work would be much appreciated.

You need one that fits in the audio jack, not the the dock port.

In a crowded radio market like Noo Yawk, you may have trouble finding an unused FM frequency.

So, if your car stereo is cassette-based, get a cassette adapter (cassette insert to mini-plug), as advised by mduell above. If your stereo is CD-based, you might be happier in the long-run just switching it out. Keep the original stereo to put back in when you eventually sell the car.

Thanks for the pointers everybody,

Something like this probably looks like the ticket then.

Cheers...

Yep, that'll do it, if you don't mind the Belkin price. Wonder what it would cost at Radio Shack or Target?

I'll be dropping by R-shack anyway, for a Y-cord, so I'll have a chance to check their offerings.
BTW - always been happy with Belkin's quality. But I'll post up what R-shack has to offer.
