Hi Guys,

My sister gave me a G3 Powerbook (I believe it's a Wall Street) that does not work. When you plug in the power cord, the power light turns green, and the only thing you hear is the cooling fan (I think that's what I hear) on full blast. Other than that, no screen activity, no hard drive sound, nothing. It'll stay like that forever if you let it. However, if you use the Reset keystrokes (fn, cmd, ctrl, power, I think) it shuts it down, then it'll restart if you press the power button, so something is in there. Any ideas? Bad logic board? Bad hard drive? Bad memory? Bad everything? Since I'm into it for no money, I wouldn't mind sinking a couple bucks into it, but not a ton. ANY input or advice is welcomed, thank you.

could the screen just be broken? Try a different screen if you can. As the machine seems to reboot id guess that the board, disk etc are OK.

You need to replace the PRAM battery...

If you're "technically inclined," it's an easy (but time consuming) project.
