I've been itching to get a GPS receiver for my PowerBook. I've come across these Garmin units:

Garmin GPS 10 (Bluetooth)
Garmin GPS 18 (USB)

Thoughts?

What does this have to do with Powerbooks?

What do you mean? I have a PowerBook... this is a newsgroup about PowerBooks... I'm looking for thoughts on what GPS receivers work with PowerBooks... what's the question? Maybe I wasn't clear and the question seemed too general?

[Hit submit accidentally.] Perhaps I should have posted on the peripherals group, but I've seen quite a few non-hardware troubleshooting posts here.

Sailing sites are a good place to start for GPS questions....

Please keep in mind the ambiguously selective general understandings we've all agreed upon...

No. This is about a peripheral that could be used with any type of machine. It belongs in the peripheral forum.

Steve: no it is not. the guy specifically is using it ONLY for his powerbook. Just because you'd like to use it on your ibook doesn't mean he posted wrong. For this person it's specifically tied to a powerbook.
