My 500 Mhz was a heat demon; but maybe mine was just defective. Wonder how much hotter a 1.2 Ghz would be. My 667 DVI was pretty quick, cool and quiet though. Shudda kept it.

Don't assume the faster processor is more of a heater. The newer designs are more efficient and it may be thermally cooler than the stock 500MHz G4.

For that kind of moolah, I'd just sell the TiBook and buy an iBook.
