Hi
I held down shift-control-option and pressed power. After a few seconds the fan came on and I heard a beep. I thought this was the way to reset the PMU. Maybe not...
After that I loose power to the excess of more than 1% per minute! plus the PB can not tell me how long any charge will last anymore, just that it will take 5 minutes to recharge.
Tried again, with no change. Then I just kept the power button pressed for more than 6 seconds and got the same result, fan on and a beep.
stil can not keep its charge.
I was considering returning it due to horizontal lines anyway but if this is the effect of resetting the PMU I think there are some major flaws in the design!
Someone knows why this happens?
Thanks

It depends on which model he has. For the 12" Powerbooks it IS shift-control-option-power.

Yep, it is the 15 incher. I am right now reinstalling the original system and packing it up to send it to Amazon.
I looked today also at some pc noteboooks and even though the quality varied hardly any of them had the horizontal lines. I still dont think I like the XBR everyone is using but at least they are bright with no lines...

But they all run Windows! I'd choose horizontal lines over the virus prone, spyware/adware ridden piece of trash that is Windows. But that's just me.
