CDs is a broad term. Will it burn CD-RWs?

Okay. Thanks so much. Do you think someone could tell me the advantages and disadvantages of using CD-RWs instead of CD-Rs? I'm trying to figure out if I want a 100 pack of CD-Rs or a 25 pack of CD-RWs.

CD-RWs are good if you are using them to repeatedly transfer lots of data between two computers. CD-Rs are good if you want to just burn a backup or archive something permanently. CD-RWs aren't as good for that sort of thing because the dye that is used in them tends to fade more easily than the dye in regular CD-Rs. When the dye fades, the disc becomes unreadable.

I saw on disks I was thinking about buying "8x Burning Speed!". Some CD-Rs are "52x Burning Speed!"

What's up with that?

Are you sure they were CDs and not DVD+/-R's

A lot of CD-RWs have a much lower write speed than simple recordable CDs because the mechanism inside the disc itself is different. I have yet to see a rewritable CD faster than 12X-or a CD burner faster than 52X, though you can find discs labeled "60X."
