I have been noticing strange sounds coming from my powerbook ever since I got it. I really didn't notice them much or care before, but now im curious about how I can remove them, or what they can be from.

The noise the sounds make is hard to describe, Easiest way to describe is just a light clicking or ting type of noise. At first I thought it was hard drive activity, but when these noises come in, its obvious it probably isn't. I always notice these sounds happening in the following times:

Whenever I scroll a scroll bar, I hear the sound going continuously for every time I scroll.

Whenever I am in a forum, and I am typing above were text is already, I will hear the sound for every key I press.

I will sometimes continuously hear the sound going on when some flash menu's or video's are playing.

The strange thing is that it doesn't seem to be coming from the main speakers since when I have the sound muted I can still hear those sounds. This is a very strange problem and I want to know how to fix it.

my powerbook is the most recent 15" 1.67GHZ

Check out this thread.

What you are decribing is the same noise I was talking about. Seems most with new PB have a similar noise. Nothing to be worried about, but it is very annoying.
