Hi,

I have a friend that has a laptop (an iBook) but its screen is totally gray/black when he boots it up. I don't know about iBook but I suspect is the video card.
Is possible to replace iBook's video card? If so, somebody can provide me with a manual on how to replace a video card.
In case the logic board would be the problem, should I recommend him to get a new laptop or buy a new logic board?
Does anybody know about a part replacement manual for iBooks?

Many thanks in advance.

This might help. http://www.apple.com/support/ibook/faq/

As to a part replacement manual, www.pbfixit.com has some info on opening an iBook.
