does rev A mean the first in the type of products? people (even me) have been talking about rev A and rev B and so forth.

So if a 15" comes out first, that is clearly rev A. if a 12" or 17" comes out next, are those rev B because the 15" was A or does it start over for each screen size?

and if each size has its own progression of Rev A,B, etc, does a spec change have to accompany a different revision, or can we assume that when 12 or 17 comes out, that 15 has also changed?

sorry about the newbie-ish type question. i've only been in the mac community for less than 1/2 year so i haven't seen any rev A to rev B jump yet.

thanks for your help

the revisions are based on the entire line of products: for a powerbook that means 12, 15, and 17

it is rare that they won't update all 3 (for example the last update saw major changes to the 15 and 17 and some small tweaks on the 12)

so do you guys think that Apple will update the 12, 15, and 17 all at once? (there was a lot of speculation that the 12" powerbook will be dropped since the last powerbook revision had no changes to the 12"

from what appleinsider is saying, the ibooks will be next. And i don't see apple updating the 15" very soon after it actually ships! so if they update together, it doesn't seem like they'll do it anytime soon (maybe in the fall?)

In my opinion the revision number starts when the respective modell (12, 15 or 17") is first released.
Then the revision number is bumped when the model get a processor, or other major update.

Ex. here are the current PowerBook revision line:

Hope I got it right!
