Hi, I have a 15", 1.5ghz, 80gb, 512mb Ram, g4 Powerbook bought in March of last year. I want to possibly sell it and was wondering how much you guys think it'd be worth. I have a mighty mouse, all the cables, a crumpler carrying bag, and the cds/documents. It does have to dents but it runs fine. It has Tiger on it. Thanks.

There's not really a good way to tell what the market will bear yet. Perceived value seems to be fluctuating a lot right now. The market will shake out a bit once the new ones become available. I'd say $1300-$1400 probably.

Well that's what I was thinking, Id really like to sell it before the macbooks come out to get as much as I could.

Your best bet then is to check out what a similar equipped PB is selling for and sell your's on ebay for similar money.

The eBay prices have been all over the map for the last week. I'm not sure, at the moment, that it's the best barometer. It's a risky time to sell: it may work out well for you, or not so well. I am contemplating an upgrade to a MBP myself, but I'm holding on to my 1.67 to see how it all pans out.

Well I was thinking about putting it on Craigs List and wanted to know what to put it at? 1500 to start sound like a good idea? And I know this sounds blasphemous but Im not planning an buying a MBP but a new Dell or other Windows laptop. My powerbook is great but I need something a little more rugged, and all my clases require pc only programs.

Sure, that sounds like a good approach. People love to haggle on Craigslist, so starting on the high side is not a bad idea. Be prepared for lots of outrageously low offers. I've had good luck selling PowerBooks on Craigslist, though -- sold the last couple that way.

FYI, I bought a Powerbook 1.5, 512MB, Superdrive, 80GB w/Bluetooth mouse and all the packaging, (only 10.3.9, however). I paid $1,278 including 3 day shipping. I considered it a pretty good deal. If it had Tiger I would have paid $1,350.

I have the same model purchased in April. I was doing price research and found a refurbished one on the apple store site for $1399. That would include Tiger and a 1 year warranty. I would be happy to get $1300 on ebay.

Yeah, try craigslist and offer it at about $1500, you'll probably get $1300-$1400 for it. It helps if you have applecare or any warranty left. Good luck
