I have a new PB G4, and when I shut the lid, putting it into sleep mode, every 30 seconds or so the superdrive whirs, as if it is trying to eject a disk. There is no disk in the drive. Why does it do this, and how can I stop it?
Thanks,
Newb
Are you sure your machine is asleep? Is the sleep LED on or does it shut off completely when you hear the drive? If so, something is waking your machine while it's trying to sleep. Do you have any USB devices attached or anything else unusual running that could be doing this?
I'm pretty sure that it's asleep, the light is 'snoring', I do have an external usb hard drive, but the drive behaves this way whether or not it is connected, or whether or not it has ever been connected since it was switched off.
