My G4 PB works fine except for the power adapter. I plug it in, it starts green, it goes to amber, it charges, it turns green when charged, everything is fine. I'll leave it overnight and upon my return in the morning, the power adapter is no longer recognized by the PB. I just have the battery icon in the window. I will unplug the adapter from the power source, plug it into another socket, and it's recognized again. Until the next morning. What the heck is this all about? I have Apple care--not yet set up, is this the time to do so?
Thanks for any suggestions or advice.

Yeah, it is. It might be the adapter, or it could be the power management in your PowerBook. Either way, it'll be AppleCare-covered. Odds are good they will try to ship you a replacement adapter first. They might be stinkers and ask you to go to your local Apple Store and leave it with them for diagnostics first...I've had them try that with me before, but if you fight hard enough, it should be OK. Only other thing you might try is trading adapters with a friend overnight and see if that sheds any light on it.

Thanks, I'll try the swap out first and go from there.

I bet it's something else: the AC adapter has built-in protection circuitry that will shut off the adapter if the AC power coming in is too "dirty". At one apartment I was in, my AC adapter would shut off after a little while when plugged straight into the outlet. Plugging it in through a high-grade surge protector, or a UPS, fixed the problem.
